Oklahoma City Thunder fans don’t seem to be very fond of this Kevin Durant guy.

Oklahoma City Thunder fans spent years cheering on Kevin Durant. They watched him grow from a scrawny kid out of the University of Texas into one of the NBA’s elite. There were a lot of good times and a few bad ones, but for the most part it was a happy relationship.

Sadly, just like many relationships in life, this one came to an end with Durant choosing to spurn OKC for the bay area.

Saturday night, Durant makes his return to the city he blossomed, only this time, he’ll be wearing a Golden State Warriors jersey. It’ll be tense, chaotic, and the fans are going to let him hear all of their displeasure. They’re also going to mercilessly troll him with signs and costumes.

Signs, T-Shirts, and modified jerseys were going to be expected for tonight. Anytime a superstar leaves the town that drafted him there’s always a handful of signs and shirts to go with it.

Modifying the former jersey of the player is also pretty common. A few of the shirts are a little out there, but the general theme is clear: OKC is not happy with Durant. That’s not all these fans have to offer for Durant though. They’ve got memes and social media too.

Printing out tweets is usually lame, and not allowing Durant the ability to change his mind from previous thoughts is not the best. However, the one he made about players leaving for big markets is legitimately funny to look back on now.

The meme, on the other hand, is perfect. It’s topical, and references last season when Durant couldn’t close out these same exact Warriors on the way to a Western Conference Finals defeat.

This one is crazy. He’s held on to copy of the “Mr. Unreliable” headline for all of these years. He’s either the biggest Kevin Durant hater to ever walk this earth, knew a day like this may happen, or really wanted to “Well Actually” the world after Durant brought OKC a title.

Whatever the reasoning, it’s there, he has it and it’s incredible.

That cupcake costume is King Cake Baby levels of disturbing. Who in the world even sells that???? Expect a lot of cupcake signs throughout the crowd. No, it’s not to make Durant get hungry in the middle of the game, but rather take a little bit of solidarity with Russell Westbrook.

When Durant’s announcement came through on July 4, Westbrook made no public comment, just a picture of some cupcakes. At first it seemed like he was just in the spirit of the holiday and ignoring Durant.

However, an in-depth story from Sports Illustrated’s Lee Jenkins revealed that “Cupcake” was a phrase Kendrick Perkins brought to the Thunder. It meant “soft” and it was something that everybody on the Thunder knew — a silent message from Westbrook to Durant that he knew would be understood.

Okay, but seriously. That costume is terrifying. Someone please remove it from my nightmares.
