Here are 10 NFL players that should duke it out with an animal counterpart.

On March 5, Arian Foster resorted to Twitter, expressing his confidence that he could beat up a wolf. For a majority of that evening, Foster would go back-and-forth with fellow Twitter users, of who would adamantly favor the wolf.

With two-a-days no longer on his schedule, Foster would spend his Sunday dismissing much of the criticism. He even went as far as saying that his four Pro Bowl appearances would add as an advantage.

Influenced by Foster’s decision to debate with Twitter about it, the following slideshow details 10 NFL players (inactive, active) and their likely animal opponents (extinct, alive) in a fight. After all, it’s a primal sport between man and beast. In some ways, it’s used as a measuring device for competition among other like-minded members of a species.

On the other hand, hand-to-hand combat is also as instinctive. That said, here are some men that could rival the Foster versus wolf encounter.

10. Cam Newton vs. Alligator

Fighter Statistics

Cam Newton: 6-foot-5, 245 pounds

Gator: 10-15 feet long, weighs 1,000 pounds; undefeated among prey

Advantages

Cam Newton: vertical height, evasiveness

Gator: movement detection (sensors placed along body), knee jerk reactions

Disadvantages

Cam Newton: prone to injuries, poor attitude

Gator: low velocity, short legs

Though vertical height favors Cam Newton, who stands at 6-foot-5, the gator possess two attributes that are uncommon to an average man: bulky jaws and an unconventional fighting style. That unconventional fighting style, by the way, is the gator’s natural ability to roll and twist its body out of a situation. And while a gator is seen as almost lifeless and statue-like, this maneuver could rip off Newton’s four limbs in just a couple of rotations.

Helping out in the infamous gator roll is the elite power behind the jaw muscles. The gravity behind a gator bite could pierce through some hefty armor, as well as human flesh. To be honest, human skin is child’s play to a gator. If Newton stands any chance, he needs to focus his attention on two things: the belly and the tail.

Both turn out to be the most sensitive parts of a gator, so Newton would leap into a favorable position if he manages to get a grip on either part. Otherwise, Newton is doomed since a gator gets threatened easily, and Newton has no street fighting cred with gators.
