In his own unique way, Marshawn Lynch has left a hint about his possible return to the NFL.

Virtually out of nowhere on Friday, multiple reports indicated the Oakland Raiders were considering making a run at retired running back Marshawn Lynch. Nothing would be too surprising for one of the most mysterious players we’ve seen in the NFL recently, and as an Oakland native the Raiders stand out as a team he may want to play for.

The Seattle Seahawks hold Lynch’s rights, on the reserve/retired list, so if he wants to come back they have the options to keep, release or try to trade him. Lynch may have asked the Seahawks to release him a few days ago, and he could then sign with the Raiders if he wishes. Keeping Lynch is highly unlikely for the Seahawks, since the $9 million he’d be due this year would eat up most of their remaining salary cap space.

Lynch announced his retirement on Twitter during Super Bowl 50, so taking to that medium to declare his return wouldn’t be shocking. Right on cue, Lynch seems to have offered a hint about his plans.

Lynch re-tweeted his Spotify playlist from Sept. 3, 2015, as what would be his final season with the Seahawks was close to starting. The second-to-last track, simply entitled “Oakland Raiders”, is perfectly passive aggressive, and Lynch can seemingly breaking his silence about a return to the NFL with a simple re-tweet.

Lynch’s intentions should come to better light soon, one way or another, or the Raiders will surely shift their focus to another available running back (Adrian Peterson?). Some skepticism can reign for now, as with everything regarding Lynch, but his soft retirement a year ago looks set to end.
