March Madness has inspired Kansas City Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos to attempt a dunk inside the locker room, and it did not go well.

Basketball junkies are reveling in March Madness, which has already lived up to it’s name with some wild upset in the opening weekend. As everyone patiently waits for Thursday night and the Sweet 16 to begin, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos felt inspired to get his basketball on.

Earlier today inside the Chiefs locker room, Santos attempted a dunk while wearing a size 18 pair of shoes. Keep in mind, Santos stands at a mere 5-foot-8 and weighs all of 160 pounds.

As you could have guessed, the dunk attempt didn’t go over too well for Santos.

Meanwhile, Santos is a restricted free agent, so while he can explore the open market the Chiefs can match any offer if they elect to. This past season, Santos was selected as a Pro Bowl alternate, but he said he doesn’t want that to be his only accomplishment.

"“It’s a great experience for me just to see what it’s like to get into this game, and it’s a huge honor,” Santos said. “I was an alternate this year, and it’s a hard road to get here, especially knowing how good Justin Tucker is — he’s truly deserving of playing in this game. So trying to play better than a guy like that, that’s a huge accomplishment to keep in mind for the future.”"

Santos only missed four field goals during the 2016 season.

"“I think I’m headed in the right direction,” Santos said. “Every year I feel like I’m getting better, hitting big kicks to help the confidence. I’ve just got to keep making them.”"

After winning the AFC West, the Chiefs lost their first playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Arrowhead Stadium. For the past two years, the Chiefs have been good, but just not good enough to get over the hump.
