Teddy Bridgewater’s rehab is apparently going well (Video)
There has been little good or affirmative news regarding Teddy Bridgewater since his knee injury, but he has taken matters into his own hands.
After Teddy Bridgewater suffered a severe left knee injury during a practice late last preseason, the Minnesota Vikings wound up giving up their first-round pick in next month’s draft in a trade for Sam Bradford. There has been very little news about Bridgewater over the course of the last seven months, and what has come from the team or elsewhere has not come off as optimistic.
With Bridgewater unlikely to be ready for Week 1, Bradford enters next season as the Vikings’ starting quarterback. Beyond that is a question, with Bradford entering a contract year and no guarantee about when or even if Bridgewater will be ready to play.
On Monday, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said there’s still no timeline for Bridgewater to return, as he has started running in a pool and doing some non-weight bearing exercises. Now, the quarterback has offered some indication of how he is progressing in rehab.
Bridgewater obviously has a brace on his surgically-repaired knee, but he appears to be dropping back and throwing fairly comfortably in a casual setting. He’s also wearing gloves, like he typically does outside of a bad Pro Day during the pre-draft process in 2014, and the video has been further confirmed to indeed be Bridgewater.

It’s a long way from throwing in essentially a t-shirt and shorts and doing it in more intense conditions on a football field, assuming this is a current and legitimate clip of Bridgewater. His status for the 2017 season is still in serious doubt until further notice, and it’s still not certain he plays again.
