Zion Williamson throws down 360 dunk in pre-game warmups (Video)

Zion Williamson won’t be a college basketball player until the 2018-19 season, but he seems to be more than ready.

Zion Williamson is No. 2  on ESPN’s list of 2018 recruits, with offers from 27 schools, including Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas and UCLA. The junior out of Spartanburg, South Carolina also has an offer from in-state South Carolina, who just had a Cinderella run to the Final Four.

Williamson has not committed to any school yet, but it’s clear the biggest challenge for him during his senior season will be to avoid a serious injury. Listed at 6-foot-6 (or 6-foot-7) and 230 pounds, Williamson is clearly a man among boys at the high school level.

Williamson scored 51 points in leading Spartanburg Day School to a win in their championship game, and he is taking part in the 2017 Real Deal in the Rock tournament this weekend. During pre-game warmups on Friday night, he did this.

Spectacular in-game dunking has been common for Williamson, so it’s not too surprising a more casual setting inspired some creativity. Here’s another (better?) angle of his 360 scoop slam, which he pulled off almost too casually.

Williamson followed that up by scoring 47 points in the game against the Arkansas Wings Elite, which his team won.

The odds Williamson stay says home and plays at South Carolina for Frank Martin are probably improved now, but he has a lot options for where he’ll spend what looks likely to be just one season in college. He can and should have his eye on the NBA before committing to a school, and that may tip the scales away from some places and toward others.

Coming off a fantastic NCAA Tournament run, South Carolina seems well-positioned to build on it. Williamson would help take things to another level on a national scale though, as a home-grown, transcendent star.
