After a 108-year championship drought, the Chicago Cubs finally earn their World Series ring. The design tells the story of the team’s history.
To the winner goes the spoils, and the spoils are amazing. With each championship, the winning team earns a specially designed ring to commemorate their triumph. And for the the Chicago Cubs, it is a ring that elegantly expresses the team’s history.
Designed by Josten Inc., the ring features all the things that are Cubs. The bullseye-style logo; the “W” flag; the marquee at Wrigley Field. Anything and everything you can imagine with the team is held within the ring.
The 108-year drought is established by the 108 diamonds that encompass the logo. The series results and time of the final victory for the 2016 playoffs are all inscribed inside the band. Even the team motto for 2016, “We never quit” is included.
There is even a goat. Yes. A goat.

The Cubs players and staff received their rings prior to the game tonight versus the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team they beat in the NLCS. It is the final moment of celebration for last season’s accomplishment before turning their attention to the rest of the season. For manager Joe Maddon, he wanted to make sure the players celebrated the right way, as he told MLB.com‘s Chad Thornburg.
"Symbolically, the ring ceremony will be the conclusion of turning the page, but come on, enjoy it. I want them to take the mental snapshots. … It’s possibly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so don’t miss out.”"
The rings have a magnificent construction. And the attention to the story of the team adds another dimension.
World Champions.

The 2017 edition of the Chicago Cubs is the NL favorite to earn a trip to the World Series. While that ring would be special, this one is one for the ages. As their motto this year states, “Thats Cubs.”
