The San Francisco 49ers have 10 picks in the 2017 NFL Draft. When do they pick?

Not surprisingly, when you own the number two pick in the 2017 NFL draft, there’s going to be plenty of discussion when it comes to what to do with that valuable selection.

Recently, Kevin Jones of KNBR recently asked new San Francisco 49ers’ general manager John Lynch if the franchise had anything in mind when it came to dealing the second overall selection.

“There’s the traditional trade chart,” said the Niners’ executive. “We’ve got one of our own. We know how we value that. As I’ve said, we’re open for business. We’ll listen to anything. But I’ve always said you don’t like being a 2-14 team, but you like having the second pick. Because I think it puts you in the driver’s seat. A lot of options at your disposal. And we’ll explore every single one of them.”

Of course, the No. 2 is one of only 10 picks that GM has at his disposal. The 49ers have four of the top 109 choices and eight of their selections are within the Top 200.

Here are their 2017 NFL Draft picks:

Round 1 – 2nd overall
Round 2 – 34th overall
Round 3 – 66th overall
Round 4 – 109th overall
Round 4 – 143rd overall
Round 5 – 146th overall
Round 5 – 161st overall
Round 6 – 186th overall
Round 6 – 202nd overall
Round 7 – 219th overall

The Niners were as busy as any team in free agency this offseason. Their haul includes quarterbacks Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley, both late of the Chicago Bears. There’s also wide receivers Pierre Garcon, Alrick Robinson and Marquise Goodwin. On the defense, the headliner is outside linebacker Malcolm Smith. The former Oakland Raiders’ defender was Super Bowl XLVIII MVP while with the Seattle Seahawks.

The San Francisco 49ers have won a total of seven games the past two seasons combined. A year ago, the only club they managed to beat was the Los Angeles Rams and they did that twice. Between the new faces and the eventual rookies, this will be quite the overhauled roster.
