In a nod to his celebration in 1982, the Milwaukee Brewers are giving away a cool Robin Yount bobblehead.
The Milwaukee Brewers are one of the most surprising teams so far this MLB season, with a 25-22 record that puts them a half-game behind the Chicago Cubs for first in NL Central heading into a weekend series at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks. But the giveaway on Sunday afternoon will surely take center stage, with a bobblehead honoring Hall of Famer Robin Yount and commemorating a memorable moment in Brewers’ history.

The Brewers won the American League pennant in 1982, led by a group of hitters nicknamed “Harvey’s Wallbangers” after manager Harvey Kuenn. Yount was one of the leaders of that group, as he won the only Gold Glove of his career and the first of his two MVP awards that year.
During a parade in Milwaukee to celebrate that pennant, Young drove a motorcycle around the warning track at Milwaukee County Stadium. The Brewers’ Twitter account used a photo from that day in announcing the bobblehead giveaway.

Most stadium giveaways are limited to the first 10,000 or 20,000 fans to arrive on game day. But the Brewers have apparently produced over 37,000 of these Yount bobbleheads, which should mean every fan at Miller Park on Sunday will get one. Some of the novelty of getting one will be diminished then, but it’s a cool and unique collectible that probably won’t eventually find its way into garage sales in eastern Wisconsin.

Bobbleheads can be fairly generic, and sometimes they don’t even look anything like the player they’re meant to depict. But this one the Brewers have done is not at all cookie-cutter, and it’s an excellent likeness of what Yount looked like that day nearly 35 years ago. So get your tickets, Brewers fans, and go home with a sweet collectible on this holiday weekend.
