The Celtics reportedly have a deal to trade the no. 1 pick, likely Markelle Fultz, in the 2017 NBA Draft to the 76ers, and there were plenty of opinions on it.
The Boston Celtics finally landed themselves the first overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, so it only feels right for them to want to deal it away as soon as possible.
The team reportedly will trade the first overall pick, which will almost certainly be Washington guard Markelle Fultz, to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics apparently getting a package of three first-rounders back in the process, including the Sixers’ third overall pick in the 2017 draft.
The deal obviously comes with some mixed feelings from both Celtics and Sixers fans, with some fans in Boston upset about losing their first no. 1 pick in decades, and some in Philly upset about the haul they give up to get the pick. Many had their own theories about what’s next for the Celtics as they load up picks, while others focused more on the excitement of Fultz likely heading to Philadelphia in a few weeks.
