Mauro Ranallo is heading back to the WWE world after some controversy, this time to announce for Triple H and the NXT brand.

Earlier this year, famed combat sports announcer Mauro Ranallo disappeared from WWE television, where he was the lead announcer on the SmackDown Live brand, and there was no explanation as to why. We would later learn that he was suddenly done with the company altogether, and that’s when rumors of bullying from co-host John Bradshaw Layfield started to surface, garnering some unwanted mainstream attention for the company.

Given the circumstances, some thought that Ranallo would never return to the company, but as we’ve learned throughout the years when it comes to WWE — never say never.

On Thursday, Ranallo teased that he would be returning to the company, this time to take over the lead announcing duties on the NXT brand. This was later confirmed by the mastermind of the third brand himself, Triple H, on Twitter.

Since his unceremonious exit from the company, Ranallo returned to the combat sports world full time, commentating various boxing matches, being named a new commentator on the Bellator MMA brand, and it was even announced that he will be on the booth for the upcoming mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.

It’s amazing that the two sides were able to put this whole mess behind them, and honestly, Ranallo is perfect for the NXT brand and the style of professional wrestling they produce. It was nice to see someone with his talents on the main roster, but NXT is by far a much better fit for someone like Mauro. It’ll be great to hear his voice calling the matches on Wednesday nights on the WWE Network, and even better during those amazing Takeover events that produce some of the best wrestling matches of the year.
