Madden 13 Demo to be Released Tuesday
By Josh Hill
The wait is almost over folks. Those of you drooling over the rating releases we’ve been covering can clean yourselves up and get ready to play the actual game itself. EA has announced that the Madden 13 demo will be released this upcoming Tuesday for free down download, and it’s much different then any football demo Madden has every put out.
Which bodes well for the revolutionary style of gameplay that EA is touting Madden as containing.
As for the demo, you will be able to play two different Play Now games. The first lets you pick between the New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of the NFC Championship Game.
The other is a showdown between the Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks in which you’ll be able to play as rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III.
The Demo is going to feature all of the gameplay features that will be available in the full release of the game later this month including “Total Control Passing to accurately place the ball anywhere on the field as the QB; the Ball Hawk mechanic to aggressively play the ball in the air as a defender; play action abort to cancel out of a play action when sensing pressure as a QB; use of Kinect (Xbox 360 only) to control pre-play audibles and adjustments with your voice; and of course the Infinity Engine that brings physics you can feel on every play”.
EA will also be giving away free copies of the game. All you have to do is play one of the demo games and tweet your results with the hashtag #Madden13Demo.
And this isn’t a thing where they give away one free copy. EA is giving away a free copy every day until the game is released on August 28th, which means all you have to do is play the demo and tweet your results and you’ll have 15 chances to win.
EA is touting this edition of Madden as the “most extensive overhaul” in the franchise’s history. An example of this: EA encourages you to create your own Game Face in the demo using facial recognition capabilities so that the player or coach you create in the game has your face.
They’re genius’ of marketing too, because now they have legions of football fans counting down the days until the demo — not the actual game itself– is released.
Be sure to get your XBox 360’s and PS3’s ready on August 14th when the demo is released. Continue to stay tuned to Fansided.com for all the news and ratings releases for Madden 13.
