If there’s one thing we learned about Texans on Friday, it’s that they love them some Johnny Football and they love them some booze. Combine the two and put them near a live television crew and you have yourself one of the highlights of the night at the Cotton Bowl.

And apparently it’s not Johnny Football, as we northern folk have thought for all this time. It’s actually, “Johnny Footbaaaaall” according to two drunk Texas A&M fans that crashed a live pre-game show for CBS DFW. Correspondant Jeff Jamison got about two seconds into his report from the Cotton Bowl before two visibly drunk girls crashed the show.

The best part is, while they stumbled drunkenly onto his makeshift set, they had no idea it was on live television. Meaning, these girls were probably roaming the parking lot, grabbing anybody they could and letting them know that they love Johnny Football. Jamison then decided to roll with the punches, because when you’re a television correspondent for a CBS station in Dallas-Fort Worth, when two attractive drunk girls approach you and won’t leave, you seize that opportunity.

You’ve got to give a lot of credit to Jamison on this one though. He turned what could have been an extremely awkward situation into a moment of flirty bliss that combined all things Americana: drunk people, attractive southern girls, college football and live television. If this doesn’t win him a Peabody Award, there is no justice in this world.

Besides, the blonde girl ended up being spot on when she said Johnny Football was going to do great against Oklahoma. So even drunk people can see that Johnny Manziel is something truly special.
