Tim Tebow Schedules Appearance at Another Controversial Venue

Tim Tebow canceled an appearance at a controversial church in Texas last month, but now the New York Jets punt protector has scheduled yet another appearance at a controversial venue. Someone needs to get in Tebow’s ear and tell him to steer clear of these places.
Tebow will be speaking at Liberty University in Virginia on Friday during an event that is closed to the public.
Why is Liberty University a controversial venue?
Liberty was founded by televangelist Jerry Falwell in 1971 and the school’s Mathew Staver has a history of being outspoken against homosexuals. Staver has previously supported the criminalization of homosexuality and took his homophobic remarks as far as to say “one of the gravest threats to our freedom is the sexual anarchy of the gay rights and homosexual movement.”
The interesting decision to close Tebow’s appearance to the public could raise some questions about the what will go on behind the doors, but Liberty officials say the controversy surrounding the appearance at the Dallas mega church that I refuse to name has nothing to do with the decision, according to the Huffington Post.
"“Liberty University spokesman Johnnie Moore said the school had long planned on making the engagement private because officials expect a big student turnout.“The Tebow Convocation has been closed to the general public since we announced his visit months ago. It is only closed to the public because of limited seating capacity in our basketball arena.”"
Hopefully Tebow can wise up like last time and avoid any unnecessary controversy. He really needs to wise up and understand these appearances are hurting his image and making many people believe that he is anti-homosexual.
If I was in Tebow’s camp, I would use the convenient excuse that the snow in Virginia makes travel arrangements difficult and pull the plug on this latest appearance.
