The Tim Tebow rumors were actually true for once. It was reported on Monday that the Seattle Seahawks were not going to pursue Tebow to back up Russell Wilson and that’s exactly what the Seahawks did — avoided Tim Tebow like the plague he seems to be. Instead, the Seahawks reached out and agreed to terms with Brady Quinn, a guy not much better than Tebow but with much more experience as a pro in multiple systems.

Quinn has spent time with the Browns, Broncos and Chiefs in his career since coming out of Notre Dame back in 2007. There have always been questions about Quinn’s ability to lead but he’s fallen into a comfortable role as a backup — otherwise known as the guy who never has to play. Quinn’s played sparingly over the last few seasons and hasn’t looked overly impressive in any of his outings.
But for the Tebow fans now crying foul over the fact that Quinn got a job over Tebow, here’s the real reason: Brady Quinn is just an average quarterback, not a freak show. Tebow may have the potential to be a solid backup in his career, but he’s got such an insane amount of unwanted baggage that no one is willing to take him on.
That’s the real reason Tebow won’t find a job and is the real reason supposed lesser talents like Brady Quinn and Bruce Gradkowski will get jobs before Tebow and his rag-tag groupie cult that comes with signing him.
