Pat Summerall, Legendary Sportscaster, Dies at Age 82

There is some sad news to report in the sports world today, as the Dallas Morning News has learned legendary sports broadcaster Pat Summerall has passed away at age 82. There are no current details surrounding the cause of his death.

The broadcasting icon retired in 2002, after a storied career that included a record 16 Super Bowls on network television. Summerall spent time with CBS, Fox, and ESPN during his career. Summerall is perhaps most known for his time working in the booth with fellow legend John Madden.

He has dealt with plenty of health issues in the past, most recently on June 19, 2008, when he was hospitalized for internal bleeding caused by a new medicine he was taking.

Summerall is an absolute legend in the sportscasting world and he will not be forgotten for his contributions. He will certainly be missed.
