With the 2013 NFL Draft just 24 hours away, there has been a lot of buzz and rumors that make you scratch your head. There is one rumor surrounding the Detroit Lions that is something I haven’t heard before, but a potential scenario that would be a perfect fit.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Lions are very high on North Carolina guard Jonathan Cooper.

There has been a growing belief that Cooper would leapfrog Alabama’s Chance Warmack on draft day, and the closer we get to the official start to round one, the more likely it seems.

Rapoport went on to say, “Titans coach Mike Munchak, himself a former elite offensive lineman, is very high on Cooper, sources said, and he could end up being the first guard selected as well.”

Cooper is a much better athlete than Warmack and his footwork is elite. When you are looking for a guard worthy of a top ten selection, Cooper has the rare skill set to be among the NFL’s elite.
