The Miami Dolphins acquired the third overall pick in the draft from the Oakland Raiders. Oakland receives Miami’s 12th and 42nd overall picks, replacing the second-round pick they gave up in the Carson Palmer trade.

Miami was expected to take offensive tackle Lane Johnson after they moved up, but shocked everyone when they selected Dion Jordan from Oregon. Oregon is a world-class athlete off the edge on defense.

It will be interesting to see how Jordan is used, whether with his hand in the ground or as an outside linebacker. The former-Duck has a lean frame which draws concerns.

This pick may be  hit-or-miss. He didn’t play a very high number of snaps at Oregon, but his athleticism is a reason for optimism.
