During the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, Minnesota Wild forward Mike Rupp provided us all with a cheap laugh after an entertaining series of events that resulted in him flailing around on the ice like a drunken skater.

Rupp was tied up against the boards and stumbled. During the process, Rupp lost his skate blade, but he still attempted to get back to his feet. When he did, the laughs began.

This looks like something we can all relate to. The only difference is this is how a typical person looks when they try to skate even with two perfectly functional blades. It is actually impressive that Rupp was able to make his way back to his feet for the few seconds that he did. A less coordinated human would have ended up with a sprained ankle or face planted on the ice instead of just plopping on their butt.

In the future, I would love to see the NHL make players skate without blades. That would be some high quality entertainment for all.
