At times, the Los Angeles Clippers looked like the best team in the NBA. But after a rough series with the Memphis Grizzlies, the Clippers are looking like they’ll be experiencing a similarly disappointing exit to the playoffs as they did last season. To make things worse, star forward Blake Griffin may end up missing the crucial Game 6 with a high ankle sprain, and point guard Chris Paul likely won’t be operating at 100 percent in the game either.

This means the Grizzlies, who gave up Rudy Gay in an effort to save salary cap space, may be on their way to the Western Conference Semifinals for the second straight year. Los Angeles can stop that, but they’re already trying to make up ground and are fighting from behind, and when placed in that position last season the results weren’t positive.
