Not surprisingly, the Pittsburgh Penguins are entering their Game 2 showdown with the New York Islanders up 1-0 in the series. The NHL Playoffs are always interesting, but this is starting to look like a sure thing for the Pens. Then again, this is the NHL Playoffs so anything can happen.

New York is a young, quick team but they just got bullied in the first game against a far superior opponent in the Pens. Say what you will about them, and there are people that loathe the idea of the Pens, but Pittsburgh is a solid hockey team this year and even without Sidney Crosby it looks like they’ll be able to get past the Isles in the Quarterfinal round.

If the Isles want any chance to get a game back in the series, they must limit their mistakes and stop getting mentally overwhelmed by the fact they’re playing Pittsburgh. That’s easier said than done, but counting out the Isles after one game is foolish, but it’s understandable.
