The Detroit Lions have been on a tear signing draft picks and the latest has become third-round selection Larry Warford. The former Kentucky guard becomes the highest drafted player to agree to terms at this point. Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free-Press had the report.

It is always nice to get your draft picks signed early, so kudos to the Lions for making quick work of the process.
Another positive for the Lions is the impression Warford left on former Pro Bowl center LeCharles Bentley. Birkett passed along a story earlier on Thursday that shed some light on Warford’s work ethic, which has to be exciting and very welcomed for the Lions.
“Larry says, ‘Hey, we’re training on Christmas, right?’ Wow,” Bentley stated, per the Detroit Free-Press. “He could have gone and ate cake and stuff and had a good old time on Christmas Day, but Larry Warford wanted to come into the gym and work on Christmas Day. And not do arms and not do upper body, he wanted to do legs. There aren’t many players that want to train legs on any given day, especially on Christmas Day.”
If he brings that work ethic to to Detroit, the fans and team will be more than satisfied with their third-rounder.
