Preakness Stakes 2013 Live Stream: How To Watch Online
By Josh Hill
The Preakness Stakes will get underway Saturday afternoon in Baltimore at the Pimlico Race Course. Like the Kentucky Derby which was held a few weeks ago, the event is a pricey ticket to get into which means most people will be watching from afar or at home on their couch. But not everyone will be watching on television as some bars may be carrying other sporting events going on or you just might not have cable since everything can be streamed now.
Saturday’s race of The Preakness Stakes is no exception to the streaming trend, as you don’t even need a laptop or computer to watch all the race action going on this afternoon.
NBC Live Extra is the NBC Sports Network’s answer to Watch ESPN, only while you have to be a subscriber to ESPN in order to get the Watch ESPN service — which kind of defeats the point– NBC Live Extra is available to any and all who have internet access. There are two ways to watch The Preakness via live stream this afternoon.
The first way is to download the NBC Live Extra app from iTunes and operate the stream that way. The other, more conventional way, is to simply visit the Live Extra website and stream it from their built-in video boxes there. It’s as simple as that, and all you have to do is take a look at the odds, kick back and watch the second leg of the Triple Crown to see if Orb can make it two in a row.
Here is the complete running order and odds, via HorseRacingNetwork.com:
Post | Horse | Odds |
1 | Orb | 1-1 |
2 | Goldencents | 8-1 |
3 | Titletown Five | 30-1 |
4 | Departing | 5-1 |
5 | Mylute | 8-1 |
6 | Oxbow | 15-1 |
7 | Will Take Charge | 12-1 |
8 | Govener Charlie | 10-1 |
9 | Itsmyluckyday | 12-1 |
The race itself doesn’t post until 6:05 p.m ET but that doesn’t mean NBC isn’t going to make a spectacle of the event. While the race is later int he evening, coverage of the vent begins on NBC Live Extra around 2:30 p.m. ET, so be sure to mark your calendar and get you live stream ready.
