Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was instantly a star on the collegiate level during his time with the Auburn Tigers. Newton was only with Auburn for one year, but during his time at the university he set a number of college records and ultimately led the Tigers to a national championship.

Newton capped that year off with a Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award, Manning Award, AP Player of the Year and then he was finally named the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

While Newton hit the wall in his sophomore season with the Panthers, he is preparing to bounce back in 2013. During Panthers OTAs this past week, Newton was spotted representing his college team during the workouts.

If Newton can dial in to his Auburn success, that would be a great sign for the Panthers moving forward.

That is one of the great things about college football. Your pride will never leave you.

I am sure Auburn fans love seeing the little shout out from Newton.
