The Miami Heat were able to escape a Game 1 scare at home against the Indiana Pacers, when LeBron James made a game-winning lay-up at the buzzer to lift Miami over the Pacers in overtime. After the game, fans from both sides were wondering why Pacers head coach Frank Vogel made the decision to pull his best interior defensive threat Roy Hibbert on multiple occasions in the final seconds.
In was a crucial mistake that may have cost the Pacers the win, but even worse is the fact that it delivered a crushing blow to the team’s confidence heading in to Game 2.
It would have been huge for Indiana if they were able to win Game 1 at home and stun the Heat, but instead they made major errors that cost them a close game and could ultimately give Miami the advantage they need to run away with the series.
There is a lot of basketball left to be played, but if Miami can come out and dominate Game 2, Indiana will be in serious trouble.
