Going into the 2012-2013 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers were favourites among many teams to win the championship this year with the additions of NBA All-Stars’ Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. As the season progressed, the Lakers stumbled upon problems and were knocked out of the first round of the playoffs, swept by the loathsome San Antonio Spurs four games to none. Kobe Bryant suffered an torn Achilles tendon prior to the start of the playoffs.
As many fans wept and look forward to next season when the former MVP returns, Kobe Bryant seems to be enjoying his days recovering from his Achilles injury, as the black mamba added some fresh new ink.
The tattoo, done by Mr. Cartoon on Bryant’s forearm, pays tribute to his daughters Gianna Maria and Natalia Diamante. Bryant, the literalist he is, got a diamond right under Natalia’s name.
Back on May 24th, Bryant also added another picture to his account showing no signs of pain, as one might expect as he gets “inked”.
There’s something to be said about Bryant receiving much media attention for simply getting a tattoo. We are in the middle of the NBA conference finals after all. However when you received so much success and as accomplished as the five-time NBA champion, and fifteen time NBA all-star, the news, no matter what it is, is bound to spread. This time, it’s simply about his newest tattoo.
