
We had known that the NFL was set to push back the date of the 2014 NFL Draft because of scheduling conflicts and we have now learned the official date. The league announced on Tuesday morning that the draft will continue to be held at Radio City Music Hall, but it will now begin on May 8 and continue through May 10.
While the date of the draft is changing, the other significant dates on the NFL calendar will remain the same.
- Several Regional Combines will be held on various dates from January 24 through February 16, 2014. Some Regional Combines may be held after the National Combine in Indianapolis.
- The National Combine in Indianapolis will be held from February 18-25, 2014.
- The new League Year, and the Free Agency period, will begin on March 11, 2014.
- The Annual Meeting will be held in Orlando, Florida, on March 23-26, 2014.
The league anticipates that these changes will only take place for the 2014 season.
For the incoming rookies, they will still have the same amount of time to prepare for their first season in the league.
Teams will havethe same number of practice days as they previously had with the old offseason schedule.
