NBA draft prospect, Sergey Karasev has returned home to Russia before the 2013 NBA draft in late June according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

The 19-year-old prospect, who lasted played for BC Triumph Lyubersty in Russia worked out in front of many executives of various NBA teams in Las Vegas last week. His representatives have begun inform teams Tuesday that since Karasev will return home, he won’t be available for any private workouts before the draft on June 27 causing speculation that he would be guaranteed to go in the first round.

"Karasev’s representatives, Andy Miller and Justin Zanik, began to inform teams on Tuesday that Karasev, a sharp-shooting 6-foot-7 forward, will not be made available for any private workouts prior to the June 27 draft, league sources said. Most NBA teams wanted to get Karasev into their facilities for closer inspection, but none will get the opportunity. Karasev, 19, is likely to be selected in the Nos. 14 to 24 range of the first round."

The only time draft prospects return home prior to the NBA draft is if he received a promise from a team you want to play for, to go in the first round and if your agent thinks it’s a good fit.

Karasev shows much promise and potential as a shooter. He can knock three pointers down with precision and is a strong catch a shoot player. He’s also a good passer and can strongly attack the rim. From day one, Karasev could have a lot of impact on a team.

Leading up to the draft, Karasev will practice with the Russia’s under-20 national team. He will also partake in the World University Games in July.
