By now everyone should know the name Jason Collins. He was the first active male athlete in a major professional sport to come out as openly gay. Collins spent a number of years bouncing around the NBA with a number of teams, but when he came out it overshadowed anything he had done on the court. That signaled the first time in Collins professional career that he could truly be true to himself as a person.

While he is still searching for a new job next season, it looks like Collins inspirational story could be tied to one of Nike’s campaigns — “#BeTrue.”

Nike previously unveiled some multi-colored sneakers that were made to celebrate the achievements of the New York City, San Francisco and Portland communities as progressive leaders of LGBT lifestyle and community. There is also a shirt that features the rainbow coloring and phrase “Be True” across the front of the shirt.

Here is Collins being spotted in one of the Nike Be True t-shirts:

It is great to see Nike showing their support of the LGBT community and it is just as good to see Collins happily living his life and being a positive role model and inspiration to kids who are struggling to accept who they truly air.
