With a deal finally set for the Kings to remain in Sacramento, fans can finally start looking forward to what the NBA draft has to offer. Rumor has it they might be interested in taking a big man with their seventh overall selection.

"The Sacramento Kings will take a look at one of the top big men in college basketball tomorrow.  The Kings announced today that Cody Zeller of Indiana University will showcase his talents before team brass in a solo workout. The 7-foot Zeller will be the second big man the Kings audition who could be worthy of their No. 7 pick.  French center Rudy Gobert  headlined the Kings’ first pre-draft workout of the summer last Monday.  ESPN.com’s Chad Ford currently has Zeller attached to the Philadelphia 76ers with the 11th overall pick in his most recent mock draft."

It’s an interesting pick with DeMarcus Cousins in town. But Zeller is more than capable of playing the four and is widely regarded as more of a safe, complementary pick than the kind of player you take for upside – although there is certainly room for improvement.

Zeller is being compared to LaMarcus Aldridge by many. A generous estimate. But the skillset is there. He’s the kind of player that should be able to transition seamlessly to the pro game.
