When the Cleveland Browns brought defensive coordinator Ray Horton over to run the unit, everyone knew that the team would be picking up a new aggressive style that played in to their strengths. One of the players who is looking forward to the aggressive defense is starting defensive back T.J. Ward.

Ward was speaking with the media and he expressed his excitement for bringing his hard-hitting style to the new scheme. In Ward’s mind, it is a perfect fit.

“It’s an attack style, all downhill. We’re really getting after the guys. That’s what I’m most excited about,” Ward said, via the Browns official website.

Ward is one of the most experienced players on the team’s defense, so he is ready to take on a leadership role and help bring the young group of players together so that they can maximize their talent.

“I’m stepping out on this field every day going 100 percent, trying to be a leader, and teaching the young guys what this level of football is all about and how you need to approach it because I’ve been through it,” Ward said. “These guys are eager to learn, and eager to know what this NFL thing, this Browns thing is all about. They want to hear about your experiences, what you’ve gone through, and what you learned from it. It’s good that I can share that and hand that down.”

When you add the excitement surrounding the team’s defense and they vertical attacking offense, the Browns look like they can be one of the most aggressive and exciting teams in the league if they are able to put it all together.

Cleveland has settled at the bottom of the AFC North for quite some time, but they appear poised for a breakout season if everything goes according to plan.
