One of the best free agents remaining has finally found a new home. According to reports that surfaced on Tuesday afternoon, the Detroit Lions have agreed to a deal with former Chicago Bears defensive end Israel Idonije. Idonije fills a huge need for the Lions and his versatility just adds to the already dangerous Detroit defensive line.

With Nick Fairley and Ndamukong Suh on the inside and the combination of first-round pick Ezekiel Ansah, Idonije, Jason Jones and Willie Young, the Lions have one of the deepest and most impressive defensive line rotations in the league.

Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham is going to have plenty of weapons at his disposal that will give him a number of options to play with as he looks to cause havoc on opposing quarterbacks. At the very least, they will be a very exciting unit to watch.

For a team that is trying to rebound from a disappointing outing last season, the Lions are on the right path.
