Earlier today we learned that MMA fighter Miesha Tate will headline this year’s group of athletes to pose in ESPN The Magazine’s ‘The Body Issue’ but the real reason people will be flocking to newsstands to pick up the issue will be because 77-year old golfer Gary Player will be  posing nude as well.

You’d better hide your women now.

It’s a wild thing to think that a 77-year old will be posing right there in the same issue with some of today’s most well-known and well toned athletes. Yet Player isn’t letting his age or the fact that he’s just a golfer get him down and he’s going to try and win over some golf fans being the chick magnet that he is.

But all kidding aside, it’s about time that someone like Player is noticed not only in just ESPN The Magazine but in an issue honoring the athletic human body. It’s truly a spectacle to see men and women today as cut and ferociously athletic as they are but it should be equally as amazing that a man who is nearly 80-years old is still playing at the top of his game in one of the hardest sports to play.

It’s not a contact or combat sport and is perhaps the “wimpiest” sport currently being played today. But Golf is in now way easy to play and there are  young, strapping, athletic men who struggle to be any good at it. Colin Kaepernick may be able to throw a football harder and more accurate than Player can but you just go ahead and see who would win an 18 hole game of golf between the two.

Player is the forgotten athlete, as he’s not only a golfer but he’s an athlete way later on in years than anyone ESPN cares about. Well not anymore as if you didn’t see enough of Player before this issue comes out, you’re about to see all you can handle and probably more.
