The Phoenix Suns are still trying to recover from the loss of Steve Nash and their attempts to not skip a beat with last year’s draft sort of fell flat on it’s face. But while their season didn’t pan out the way that they had hoped it would, that did not stop the Suns from preparing for this season’s draft with the hopes of finding that guy who takes them to the next level or at least has the potential to be the next face of the franchise.

With the fifth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns select Alex Len.

Phoenix is under new management have have brought in a new head coach which means this team is headed in a brand new direction. They took Kendall Hunter last season hoping he’d develop into a great point guard and while he’s been slow out of the gate compared to other guards taken in his class so he Suns are hoping that Len can come in and provide the kind of supporting help that Hunter needs as well as being able to step up and be a face of the franchise.

The Suns are youthful now from top to bottom as their management is young, their coaching staff is young and they continue to add young players who they feel can come together as a unit and make this team as  special as it was back in the mid 2000s.

There’s no guarantee that the current strategy will work, but the future looks bright for the Suns and Len might be a very big part of that.
