If you are a person who was hoping your team could team up soon to be free agents Chris Paul and Dwight Howard, you are all out of luck — unless you are a fan of the Los Angeles Clippers. According to the most recent reports, Paul is expected to re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers and his reps have told teams that they shouldn’t even bother pursuing him in free agency.

From Chris Broussard of ESPN:

"Chris Paul’s representatives have told teams not to even bother pursuing the point guard when free agency begins at 12:01 a.m. ET Monday because he will re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to league sources.Paul’s decision to stay with the Clippers is no surprise, but the latest word from his camp has ended whatever small hope opposing teams had of luring the All-Star, sources said."

The move by Los Angeles to bring in former Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers seems like it was all the team needed to convince Paul to stay with the team.

When you add players like Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan in the front court, Paul has plenty of weapons.

It is going to be interesting to see how Rivers leads the team, but they certainly have the talent to make a run in the postseason.

NBA Free Agency officially begins at 12:01 a.m. ET on Monday, June 1.
