Ryan Mathews was reported to be arrested after a fight outside a San Diego club. The San Diego Police Department announced this morning that Ryan Mathews was not arrested in fact.
That made for a surprising moment when San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews woke up and read the stories about himself.
“I don’t know how my name got twisted in all this [stuff],” Mathews said. “I don’t know why my name is even being brought up.”
“I didn’t hit anybody. I wasn’t arrested. . . . I didn’t see a fight. I didn’t see anything,” he said.
The NFL breathed a sigh of relief. There have been 27 players arrested this year and the NFL was just quoted this weekend saying that one arrest is too many.
