Mike Ditka is a legend in the city of Chicago thanks to his time coaching and playing the Chicago Bears. Anytime you can make the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player and win a Super Bowl as a coach, you know you will forever be loved by the fans, but some recent comments could leave a sour taste in a few of the die-hard fans’ mouths.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Ditka was asked what quarterback he would have like to play with and he said none other than Green Bay Packers signal-caller Aaron Rodgers.

“The guy up in Green Bay, I think is the best in football,” Ditka said referring to Rodgers. “But that’s my opinion. I like what he does, and I like his leadership qualities. And I think that’s the other thing you have to look at. He has to be the guy in charge. And the team has to know it.”

He then went on to say what quarterback he would have loved to coach during his time wearing the iconic sweater and Rodgers once again came out of his mouth.

“How could I say that I wouldn’t want to coach [Johnny] Unitas or Bart Starr? There’s been so many great ones,” Ditka said. “But if I had to coach one guy in my career, maybe it’d be be Aaron Rodgers.”

It’s a great sign for Packers fans that an old rival is saying nothing but great things about your quarterback and the fact that the rival fan base has to swallow the fact that their own legend is praising a Packers player has to only sweeten the deal.
