The George Zimmerman case was one that polarized America. After the jury announced the verdict Saturday of “not guilty” athletes took to social media to respond.

Most notably might have been Victor Cruz’s bold prediction. Cruz tweeted: “Thoroughly confused. Zimmerman doesn’t last a year before the hood catches up to him.” That tweet was deleted quickly but had already been captured via screen shot.

Tyrann Mathieu made a similar move tweeting: “makes you wanna scream free Aaron Hernandez” before deleting it. Roddy White

Torrey Smith who is no stranger to tragedy tweeted something more calming. Sounds almost like a response to Victor Cruz’s tweet.
