The George Zimmerman case was one that polarized America. After the jury announced the verdict Saturday of ā€œnot guiltyā€ athletes took to social media to respond.

Most notably might have been Victor Cruz’s bold prediction. Cruz tweeted: ā€œThoroughly confused. Zimmerman doesn’t last a year before the hood catches up to him.ā€ That tweet was deleted quickly but had already been captured via screen shot.

Tyrann Mathieu made a similar move tweeting: ā€œmakes you wanna scream free Aaron Hernandezā€ before deleting it. Roddy White

Torrey Smith who is no stranger to tragedy tweeted something more calming. Sounds almost like a response to Victor Cruz’s tweet.
