Nepotism is alive and well in Charlotte, it appears. Or at least the appearance of it, that is.

I mean, we’d hate to be too hard on Michael Jordan. After all, he’s absolutely proven to be worthy of running an NBA team, what with all of his wonderful draft picks and his team’s spotless win-loss records.

At any rate, Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Jordan has promoted his older brother, Larry Jordan, to team director of player personnel. It has also been reported that Jordan’s eldest son and his daughter both are employed by the Bobcats. I suppose it’s hard to truly dissect these moves, as it’s entirely possible that all of Jordan’s relatives are perfectly capable at their jobs and deserve to hold their current jobs within the organization.

Of course, it’s hard for us to give ol’ MJ the benefit of the doubt as an executive at this point in career, and I’m sure Mr. Jordan would understand that. Incidentally, the position that Larry Jordan is filling has been vacant for about three seasons, so it isn’t as if there was a vital need.

Good luck to the Jordan clan as they continue to work together to turn the ship around down in Charlotte.
