Good news for the Houston Texans front office, fans and players as linebacker Brian Cushing has been given the green light to head to training camp.

Though he may not get into the heavy workload right away as the team will look to ease him in. There has to be sighs of relief, but he could open camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list but should see playing time come pre-season.

Pending a setback, he should be ready to roll come Week 1 against Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers.

This defense showed signs of missing Cushing last season, even though they had their moments and flexed on offenses they were up against. After losing Cushing last season to that brutal injury he sustained against the New York Jets, they seemed less physical.

His return to the team this season will be huge and should get a standing ovation during their first home game on September 15th, against the Tennessee Titans. Cushing is also entering the final year of his contract, but both sides have yet to talk about a possible extension.
