
The last place Chicago White Sox picked up a 10-6 win over the Atlanta Braves today as Alex Rios went 3-5 with 5 RBI’s.
The 32 year old outfielder came back with a bounce back performance against the Atlanta Braves after he was benched Friday night after failing to run out a double play ground ball in the 5th inning.
Rios singled in the 1st inning, hit a grand slam in the 3rd and had an RBI single in the 4th. He is currently on pace for 21 home runs and 81 RBI’s.
As for the starter Jake Peavy, he allowed 4 runs, 2 earned over 6 innings of work against the Braves. It wasn’t his sharpest outing, but the White Sox offense tallied 10 runs on 13 hits against a tough Atlanta Braves team. The veteran right handed pitcher picked up his 7th victory of the 2013 season.
He has an ERA of 4.19, 1.16 WHIP and 69/15 K/BB ratio in 73 innings this season. As the trade deadline approaches on July 31st, he could be on the move.
Now for the Atlanta Braves, Dan Uggla hit his 19th home run of the season. The home run was a 2 run shot off of Peavy in the top of the 2nd inning. Uggla only had a total of 19 home runs last season, may be on pace to hit 32, if he stays healthy.
Paul Maholm left his start Saturday due to a sprained left wrist.
