Beard enthusiast Brett Keisel is not messing around this off-season. After his Pittsburgh Steelers went a disappointing 8-8 last season, Keisel decided to instil a new, blue-collar attitude in the team during training camp. His arrival at training camp on Friday was symbolic; he showed up behind the wheel of a gigantic dump truck.

Keisel explained the unique choice of transportation and the meaning behind it: “Since it’s kind of a reconstruction zone here, I brought my hard hat. We’re constructing our new team.We are excited about this year. I think everyone has written us off. But we think we can construct a championship team” (USA Today).

The 34-year-old Keisel also talked about how the younger players on the Steelers need to step it up: “The biggest thing we need is our young guys have to step up and seize the moment. Training camp is hard, especially for the young guys because they ar taking most of the reps. I am excited to watch them and see the strong ones rise up and do things to help us win games. I feel like we are going to be tough.”

The Pittsburgh Steelers begin their quest for redemption in a preseason game against the New York Giants on August 10th.
