With Mike Wallace set to line up for the Miami Dolphins as their “X” receiver, the Pittsburgh Steelers are prepared to fill his old position on their depth chart.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, they expect Antonio Brown to play Wallace’s old “X” receiver position in offensive coordinator Todd Haley’s offense.
Emmanuel Sanders is expected to play “Z” receiver, the position manned by Brown last season and Hines Ward in Pittsburgh’s previous seasons.
"“Last year, I was the third wideout, my job was to come in and catch third downs. I felt I was extremely productive as a third-down wide receiver, one of the best if not the best in the National Football League coming in and catching third downs. This year, they’re loading up even more on me. Now I’m No. 2. I’m going to continue to do my job there.” Sanders said in an interview with Pittsburgh Post-Gazette."
Antonio Brown has picked up 2,062 yards receiving in his first three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers with seven touchdowns.
Emmanuel Sanders has 1,290 yards receiving with 5 touchdowns, also in his first three seasons with the Steelers.
