Brian Wilson is coming along as scheduled for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he’ll make his debut for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly tells Arash Markazi of ESPN Los Angeles that Wilson was going to pitch for two weeks at the team’s spring training facility and “when he felt ready,” would pitch for Rancho Cucamonga.

"“We’re just moving him forward and getting him ready,” Mattingly said. “We’re trying to give him a semi-spring training. We want him to be ready and feel like he’s ready. If we’re seven days from now and he feels like he needs more time, we’re not forced into anything. There’s no hard deadline when he has to be here.”"

Wilson is trying to make a comeback to the majors after undergoing his second Tommy John surgery last season, cutting his time with the San Francisco Giants short.

Despite the possibility of the Giants bringing back Wilson as they face some problems of their own at closer, he ended up with his former team’s rival that currently sits at a much better position to reach to the postseason. The Dodgers lead the National League West as the Giants sit 12 games behind them coming into Monday night’s action.
