According to Gery Woelfel on Twitter, the Milwaukee Bucks are set to make Larry Sanders their highest paid player.
ESPN.com reported on Thursday that contract extension talks between Sanders and the Bucks have reached the final stages.
Sanders who played only 27 minutes per game last season, should have that number jump with the Bucks committing to him as the future of their front-court.
When rebuilding a professional basketball team, it is always important to have a center you know will be the future of your team. Some don’t work out, but others usually turn into franchise players and put up good numbers in their career with that team who made them a face of the franchise.
On a per-36 minute basis last season, Sanders averaged 12.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 3.7 blocks and 1.6 turnovers per game, while shooting 50.6 percentage from the field.
Now that they have Brandon Knight after shipping away Jennings, it could open up a little bit more money to go towards Sanders.
