Orlando Magic Director of Pro Scouting Harold Ellis, said that “it would have to be something crazy for us to part ways with” Arron Afflalo.

"“I know a lot of rumors are circling with Arron, we love Arron. We view Arron as almost a core player with us. It would have to be something crazy for us to part ways with Arron.” Harold Ellis said to the Orlando Magic Daily"

There has been some rumors about the Magic and Arron Afflalo, so this statement about the “almost core player” does come with some level of damage control.

The Orlando Magic used their second pick in this years draft on Victor Oladipo and they hit on big trades for Moe Harkless and Tobias Harris last season, so possibly trading their beloved Arron Afflalo has to be something the team is entertaining. Maybe to see what they could get for him?

You never know, they could put him on the trade block and get a deal no one expects, but would that happen. This season? I doubt it. But higher ups in the company always say the right thing about players, then turn around and do something completely different.

After all, professional sports are a business and when you are a man of power, business is always good. Unless you know, you’re the Bobcats or something.
