There have been reports recently that say that LeBron James is interested in running for presidency of the NBPA. The Miami Heat superstar is unhappy with the way things are going now, and if it doesn’t change now, it will only get worse. He has realized that something’s got to give, and that the union clearly isn’t where it should be. In an article on ESPN.com, James said this regarding the position as well as the NBPA as a whole,

"I’m not sure I have the time to do it, but it’s something I’m going to think about with my team and go from there. But I think we all can agree there’s been a lot of transition in our union in the last couple of years. If it’s not me in that seat then I hope it’s someone who is comfortable with it and can do the job."
"I just think the union is going backwards, and it’s not in a good place right now. I think my voice could be huge in that situation."

It goes without saying that LeBron James would have support throughout the league if he were to take the position, but it does require a big time commitment, and if he wants to focus on continuing his legacy maybe NBPA President shouldn’t be a priority. I think he’s fully capable of handling the tasks, and it seems like he knows exactly what he wants to do to bring the union back to a better place.
