In handing the Cleveland Indians their sixth straight loss Saturday, C.J. Wilson earned his fourth straight win as the Los Angeles Angels triumphed 7-2.

Wilson (12-6) didn’t have the greatest outing, giving up seven hits and four walks, though he allowed just two runs.

According to Angels manager Mike Scioscia, “It was a tough night.”

"”’Grind is the right word, but he got some key outs with guys in scoring position. They had baserunners the whole night, it seemed. He had to work really hard.”"

Wilson’s struggle was counteracted by Indians’ pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez (8-7) who gave up three runs in 6 1-3 innings. Jimenez wasn’t helped by his defense which committed a season-high four errors.

Mike Trout extended his streak of reaching a base to 40 consecutive games despite going 0-4 with three strikeouts. He did manage an RBI fielder’s choice. That was one of two fielder’s choice RBI for the Angels. Their other runs came from three sacrifice flies and a throwing error.

Catcher Yan Gomez went 2-3 with two runs, but his efforts weren’t enough to lift the struggling Indians from their slump.

The Indians were swept in four games by the Tigers and have dropped two of two to the Angels, who had been riding their own losing streak of four before arriving in Cleveland.

The teams face each other one more time tomorrow.
