One of the perks of being an athlete is endorsements. Some endorsements are considered more prestigious than others, and the Wheaties box cover is almost like landing on the cover of Sports Illustrated for an athlete.

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson landed on the cover. After all, Peterson only returned from an ACL injury and put up the second best rushing season in NFL history with a 2,097 yard season and win the NFL’s MVP award.

Collectors will likely buy the Wheaties box to add to their collection. I have never actually had a bowl of Wheaties in my life. If Adrian Peterson continues to dominate more Wheaties covers are in his future. Especially if actually lives up to his goal of 2,500 yards rushing in a season.

That could be a less realistic goal for the running back as the Vikings have added more weapons to help balance out the offense.
