Paul George is one of the leagues best young talents that will be the face of the league when greats like Kobe Bryant. Dirk Nowitzki, Dwayne Wade, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker are gone.
Last year the Indiana Pacers took the Eastern Conference and the rest of the league by storm, landing themselves in the conference finals against the Miami Heat. I honestly thought they were going to win that series.
Pacers star small forward Danny Granger battled patellar tendinosis and underwent season ending surgery on his left knee late in the season. George was the guy who stepped up and was a key to Indiana’s success. With Granger set to possibly be ready for the regular season, George has been training himself to be the go to guy this summer.
"“This whole summer, I really trained being the go to guy and the lead guy for our team. Last year, we still have Danny (Granger) and did not know the results of his injury coming into the year. I had a role that I had kind of prepared for and trained for. This year, it was more about training to be the No. 1 guy and lead this team.” George told the Indianapolis Star."
This season if Granger can manage to stay healthy, this Pacers team will have a great chance at reaching the NBA Finals, possibly winning it all.
